Well what can I say apart from well done, congratulations and fantastic rugby. Every one played fantastic yesterday against some very tough physical teams.
We were in a pool with Longlevens, Berry Hill, Widden old boys and Cleve A and knew it would be tough.
Firstly we were up against Longlevens who were probably the most physical team we have ever played and we were very evenly matched. At the last second of the game they snuck a try in and won the game by 1-0.
The lads could have lost heart but after such a narrow defeat and playing there socks off. They were fired up and went on to beat Berry Hill 7-0, Widden Old Boys 6-1 and Cleve A 8-0. I believe 10 if our boys all got on the score sheet.
Longlevens went on to win all of there games and become pool winners and we had to wait around for our fate. We found out that for the second year in a row we made the quarter finals as best runner up out of all the pools and would play for the Gloucester Plate.
It became the battle of Bristol as we faced Cleve B in the quarter finals and despite taking a 3-1 lead, Cleve managed to battle it out for a 3-3 draw. Again we had to wait around for our fate and after a look through the points scored in the pools we were through as we had 95 points against there 60.
We now have to wait until March 20th to play in the semi finals at Longlevens. A huge thank you to all the players and parents who travelled to Gloucester yesterday. We appreciate it was a long day and we know all of the boys were battered and bruised yesterday but every single one of them should be proud of them selves, they all showed great sportsmanship, discipline and conduct yesterday as well as playing some of the best rugby we have seen.
Next Sunday we are hone to Kingswood, please arrive for a 10:30am kick off.
