On a warm Saturday afternoon on the 20th May Broad Plain Pioneers attended the North Bristol Walking Rugby Festival.
The 18 Pioneers (bolstered by the last minute inclusion of a friend and family member) entered into the fray fully geared to give a good account of themselves and with smiles on their faces.
The Pioneers were split into 2 teams and both teams played 6 matches each.
Games were won and lost as usual. However the highlight was that the Pioneers festival performance was vastly improved by one of our teams winning 4 matches on the trot - even when one of the teams we played were mostly 60 years younger than Rod!
All returned home with no injuries, and all still smiling - well done to all.
